Head Line CRC's 2014 Board of Director Election Results Announced

Austin, Minn. - Cooperative Response Center, Inc. (CRC) is pleased to announce the re-election of four board members following CRC’s 21st annual membership meeting held Wednesday, June 11, in San Diego, Calif. Pre-meeting elections selected the directors to serve as part of CRC’s nine-member board.

Board members re-elected to three-year terms are Steven Wattnem, CEO of Cooperative Light & Power Association in Two Harbors, Minn., as a district 1 director; Tom Harrell, CEO at Alger Delta CEA in Gladstone, Mich., as a district 2 director; and Neil Hesse, general manager at Cooke County Electric Cooperative Association in Muenster, Texas, as an at-large (any district) director. Jim Hathaway, general manager/CEO at Dunn Energy Cooperative in Menominee, Wis., was elected as an at-large director to a one-year term. Hathaway was recently appointed to his board seat, which has a three-year term expiring in 2015. CRC’s bylaws require appointed directors to run for re-election to officially serve the remainder of the seat’s term.

After the annual meeting, CRC’s Board of Directors met and selected the following officers to serve on its executive committee:

Chairwoman – Brenda Swartzlander, president and CEO of United Electric Cooperative in DuBois, Pa., leads a 19,000-consumer electric cooperative that operates in parts of 10 counties in northwestern Pennsylvania. Swartzlander has served as the board’s chairwoman since 2011.

Vice Chairman – Re-elected board member Hesse leads a 15,500-meter electric cooperative that operates in five counties in northeastern Texas. This is Hesse’s first term as board vice chairman.

Secretary – Larry Fenbers, general manager/CEO of Carroll Electric Cooperative in Carrollton, Ohio, leads a 12,000-consumer electric cooperative that operates in six eastern Ohio counties. Fenbers has served as board secretary since March 2014.

Treasurer – Tim Stewart, CEO/general manager of Clark Electric Cooperative in Greenwood, Wis., leads an 8,500-consumer electric cooperative that operates in six counties in central Wisconsin. Stewart has served as board treasurer since 2011.
