CRC Selects Abilene, Texas, as Location of New Facility

Austin, Minn. - Cooperative Response Center, Inc. (CRC) is pleased to announce it has selected Abilene, Texas, as the location of its newest regional contact (call) center. Expected to open in May 2011, CRC’s third facility will offer bilingual services for its current and future membership and will offer redundancy for CRC’s headquarters in Austin, Minn., and a regional office in Dunlap, Tenn.

CRC plans to initially hire 25-30 employees for its newest site, who will primarily work second and third shifts. It is anticipated this newest facility will also grow CRC’s membership density in the south and southwest areas of the country.

For the past few years, CRC explored the feasibility and strategic advantages to open a site in the southwest region of the United States. After conducting a feasibility study, CRC’s executive team determined a definite opportunity for CRC and put together a business plan which was approved by CRC’s Board of Directors in September 2010. Since then, the team spent much time and energy scouting locations in the southwest region of the United States, recently selecting Abilene for its newest location.

Abilene is located 180 miles due west of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, situated near the geographic center of Texas. The city, which as a population of 116,000, was determined to be a good location due to meeting pre-determined criteria to best fit CRC’s needs including, for example, population, weather, bilingual workforce, proximity to a four-year college/university, and access to advanced technology.

“CRC is very excited to announce the opening of a third contact center,” said Chris Holt, CRC’s Vice President of Operations/COO. “We see a real need for our services in the southwest area of the country which presents exciting new opportunities for us. Abilene is a perfect fit for CRC.”

Site selection and the hiring of a contact center manager for the Abilene facility are currently taking place. Recruitment for additional staff, mainly customer service representatives (CSRs), will begin in February.
